FCC Part 68 Rules govern the connection of equipment to the public telephone network in the United States. Any equipment to be connected to the public telephone network must display an FCC Registration Number. The presence of this information on a product indicates that it has been tested and passed all of the FCC prescribed parameters.

All Cermetek modems and some telephone line interface modules include FCC Registration. On these units Cermetek customer can use the Cermetek FCC Registration Number on their products without additional testing to FCC Part 68 rules. This applies so long as the customer adheres to Cermetek recommended circuits or receives approval from Cermetek for any circuits used other than those shown in Cermetek data sheets.

Because Cermetek modem modules are complete modems, they can be registered under FCC Part 68 rules. Cermetek modems include not only the modulator and demodulator but, the complete telephone line interface circuit. Cermetek passes the FCC Part 68 Registration along to our customers freeing them from the obligation to perform additional FCC testing.

Cermetek modems typically work in Canada and Japan as well because the telephone networks in those countries use standards similar to those in the US. In fact some Cermetek modem modules have CS-03 approval for Canada.  Several Cermetek models are also compliant with the requirements of the European Union and other countries around the world. Consult the data sheets to verify the country configurations supported by the product.

Cermetek telephone line interface modules provide a complete telephone interface within a single component. They can be used for a variety of communication applications including, modems, DTMF signaling and voice.

Cermetek offers telephone line interface modules with a wide range of features. Most Cermetek telephone line interface products are FCC compliant but do not include FCC Part 68 Registration. The class="class8a"CH1840 and XE0068DT models provide the billing delay, transmit level control, and lightening protection required for FCC Part 68 Registration.

Like Cermetek modem products, the FCC Registration on these units is transferable to Cermetek customers.
